The Little Guys

There is much to be said about the average business owner in America, sometimes called the ‘Little Guy.” Small businesses in America make up 99.9% of all American businesses with the count at 33,185,550. Of this number, almost 9000 of those businesses are garden center-related. When we buy plants and flowers from our local garden centers we are supporting the heart of America and the people that help make it great.

Our garden tool line, TheMaxBit, is sold in stores all over the US. In this blog, we highlight three. In Parker, CO where I spent 5 months, we met Angie at Pine Lane Nursery on 18200 Apache Dr. It is one of the most beautiful and well-kept nurseries I have seen. From their unusual items in their showroom to their rows and rows of color and greenery in an array of greenhouses, it is a must-visit if you are in the area. A warning though, it was still snowing while we were there in May! Check out their blog.

In the state of Mississippi where many garden centers flourish, a popular place is Lakeland Yard and Garden in Flowood. Established in 1980, it touts a showroom that few can compare to. It’s outdoor greenhouses and display of pottery provide a selection for any home. Ask for Craig who could be anywhere on the property! Oh, and if you need dirt or rock, they have whatever you need!

Coming to the Alabama beaches? Visiting the Paris Ace Hardware is an experience! One of the largest Ace Hardware stores in the state, you can find anything you need. And they have the staff to help you. TheMaxBit is on the garden tool aisle! Ask for my friend Holly or Sarah.
